Baughan Agencies Ltd. has been a proud part of the Wainwright community for over 47 years. Our connection with the town began when our founder Roger Baughan, retired from the military and began what is now our family business. We are currently on our 3rd generation of family running the business.

Colter is proud to be our 3rd generation family member at Baughan Agencies. He came to us with a Business/Commerce Diploma from NAIT in 2007. He’s a natural salesman who knows our products inside and out. His expertise is commercial insurance and his personable attitude is his strong point.
Colter bought into the family business December of 2018. He is married with three children and enjoys golfing, camping, fishing, hunting, Slowpitch and Rec hockey.
Darlene H. Baughan (Semi retired)
Darlene obtained her CAIB designation in 1993. She also has many certificates for Alberta Registries and plenty of experience as well. She works mainly managing the office these days and is sometimes found at her cabin at the lake. Always looking to move the office forward she keeps things running smoothly. She stays busy with gardening, golfing, curling, time at the lake, snowmobiling (when we get enough snow) and her grandchildren are so special to her.
Alex moved to Wainwright in 2013 and started working at Baughan Agencies Ltd. in April of 2014. She has her Basic Registries Certificate and has completed training for Medical Approver for Alberta Licensing, Organ and Tissue Donor Registry and Vital Stats.
Alex Cameron has completed her Level 1 General License.
Rene was born and raised in Wainwright and is raising his two children Rhett and Sydney here with his wife Kendra. He joined the Baughan Agencies Ltd. team in June of 2016. Rene currently deals primarily with personal lines and is our go to man for computer problems as well. He was previously employed in the oil and gas industry for over 10 years which is very useful in communicating client’s needs to insurers.
Debra joined our office in May of 2020. She moved to Wainwright and is settled into our town. Debra has over 20 years Insurance experience and holds her Level Two General Insurance License. Debra can handle anything you throw at her and is very pleasant to deal with. In her down time she enjoys her family, grandchildren and camping.
Lorraine calls Wainwright her home having raised two children on the same family farm that she grew up on. She started working at Baughan Agencies Ltd. in 2003 as our bookkeeper. She loves the job as well as the people she works with. She keeps our books straight and helps out all over the office with various computer problems that arise.
She joined our group October 2017. She has now moved over to Registries full time and has obtained her Alberta Registries Basic training certificate and is now working on obtaining her CORES designation. Nat moved to Canada in 2013 with her husband and two boys. She likes to sew and she loves to work with the public and loves people in general.
Amie has lived in Wainwright since 2009 and is proud to work and raise her family in such a great community. Amie joined the Baughan Agencies Ltd. team in 2017 after working for a number of years as a legal assistant. Amie holds her Level 2 General License. Providing our clients with the efficient and friendly customer service our clients expect from Baughan Agencies Ltd. is Amie’s top priority.
Shae came to us in June 2019 as a Receptionist and part time Alberta Registries clerk. Shae is busy learning how to run the front end and keeping us organized. She will be working on obtaining her Alberta Registries Basic training certificate. Shae likes to keep busy with her cats and dog and crocheting all kinds of things.
Norma has lived in Wainwright all her life and has been with Baughan Agencies Ltd. since May 2000 as an Alberta Registries clerk. She has her Basic Registries Certificate and has trained in Level 1 Corporate Registries, Personal Property, Commercial Vehicles including Pro-Rate, Land Titles, Vital Stats, Organ and Tissue Donor Registry as well as Medical Approver for Alberta licensing.
Shyla joined the Irma Insurance office in February of 2020 and transferred to our Baughan/Wainwright office in December of 2020. Shyla is working towards her CAIB designation and has one level left to complete this! Shyla has her Level Two General Insurance License and is a very quick learner. In her down time Shyla enjoys skiing, crocheting, painting, running and camping.
